I was so excited when Mr. F’s family contacted me about his first birthday session!
I had last seen Mr. F when he was only a week old for his newborn session so I couldn’t wait to see how much he had changed since then. What a handsome little guy he has become!
First birthday sessions are a chance to celebrate and also focus on all of the important details of your baby. So many changes happen in those first years and it’s great to be able to capture their different facial expressions, their features, and their developing personalities as they turn one.
We started Mr. F’s session on my new bright turquoise backdrop for babies and toddlers as it perfectly set off the great plaid shirt mom had found for his birthday portraits. Who doesn’t love a little boy in plaid?
While we we were getting ready for the second part of Mr. F’s session I stopped to capture a couple of shots while he was just in his jeans. These photos turned out to be a great addition to his session and really helped capture his little details. His lashes are to be envied!
When we started the planning for Mr. F’s session his mom knew she wanted to include a special activity as part of his session. Incorporating an activity into a baby’s birthday session is great way to capture their excitement and personality and is wonderful for including candid photos in the session.
We have a variety of ideas and suggestions for families planning first birthday sessions and Mom had a feeling that Mr F would enjoy a bubble bath so we ran with that idea and boy did he have a great time. Look at that smile! He had such a great time during his bath I think there was more water outside the tub than in the tub by the time we finished up. It was a great way to get a headstart on cleaning the studio!
