Ottawa Lavender Field Photo Session. Being an Ottawa family photographer means I am always on the lookout for locations that are unique, offer beautiful scenery, and give families a fun experience at their session. This year I finally made it to Rae Country Farm in Almonte for lavender field sessions, and I am so glad I did. The farm is absolutely beautiful, welcoming, and full of charm. We had the entire field to ourselves and at the end of the day, most of the lavender sat in the shade, so no one felt overheated in the summer heat.
Lavender fields create a unique atmosphere that you cannot find anywhere else. The rows of purple blooms stretch across the landscape and make every photo look dreamy. This location works perfectly for clients who love gardens, nature, and soft colours. It also helps anyone who prefers knowing the exact tones in their photos ahead of time. Lavender offers a consistent palette, so you never have to guess how the backdrop will look.
The farm also gives families plenty of space to move around. The manicured lavender rows sit beside wide open fields, which creates an expansive feel that adds variety to the session. Kids can explore without feeling crowded, and parents can relax knowing the environment is safe and private.
I hope to return to Rae Country Farm every summer. Lavender season is short, but it creates some of the most memorable sessions of the year.
