Ottawa Newborn Photography | Siblings. As a newborn photographer, I never take for granted how deeply personal this work is. I feel incredibly lucky to have photographed some families for more than a decade, and this recent session was especially meaningful. It was my third newborn session with this family, and their very first newborn photos with me were taken 11 years ago. Looking back at those images while welcoming their newest baby was emotional in the best possible way.
One of the greatest joys of newborn photography is sharing in the excitement of a growing family. I get to play a small role during some of life’s biggest moments, and that is something I hold with care and gratitude. From first babies to third babies, it’s an honour to be trusted again and again.
I also love watching children grow up year after year. This is a family I see annually for family photos. Those sessions are filled with familiar faces, inside jokes, and stories that pick up right where we left off. Kids change so quickly, but those small personality details become part of the story we’re telling together.
That’s what makes professional newborn photography so meaningful to me. These images aren’t just for today. They become memories families share with grandparents, relatives, and friends. They live in albums, on walls, and eventually in the hands of the children themselves. Years from now, these photos will remind them where they came from and how deeply they are loved.
After more than 15 years photographing newborns and families, moments like this still remind me why I do what I do, and why it never gets old.
