Where will sessions take place?

The general location of the session is included in the descriptions below. The exact session location will be provided to you the day before your session.

How do I book a session?

Booking begins on May 29th. Sessions are booked via The List: click here to add your name to the list. Booking will then be available in the boutique.

If our plans change, can we change our session time?

Before booking your Ottawa Family Photography Session, please ensure your partner and family members are all available for the date and time you have selected as well as the back-up date.  Unlike other service appointments (e.g., spa, hair salon, massage), several hours of planning is involved prior to your session taking place.  For this reason, it is not possible to change your session date and time once your session has been booked.

Should I book hair or makeup appointments for the day of my session?

If having your hair or makeup professionally done is important to you, please book a studio session. Postponement notifications for outdoor sessions are only done 90 minutes to two hours before your session.  

Do I have to pay for my session fee in full?

A session deposit is required to secure your session. The balance for your session is paid the week your session is scheduled to take place. 

Can our grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles come to the session?

Outdoor Summer Sessions are for immediate family members (parents and their children).

What is your session illness and cancelation policy?

Many of our studio policies and practices have changed several times since 2020. They have recently been updated for 2023 and can be seen here.

What are the session options?

There are two session options (*with the exception of Sunsets and Silhouettes).

A Memories Session is 15 minutes in length ($349+HST). These sessions are for 3 people or less. These sessions include 5 edited and retouched digital images of your choice in colour and 3 complimentary gift prints. 

A More Memories Session is 20 minutes in length ($399+HST). These sessions are for families of 4 or more people. These sessions include 8 edited and retouched digital images of your choice in colour and 3 complimentary gift prints.

Summer at the Arboretum

morning of July 8th (back up July 9th) & afternoon of August 26th (back up August 27th)

• want a unique yet timeless backdrop for their summertime photos.
• want lots of space to move and play during their session.
• want a central Ottawa location for their session.

Summer at the Willow Pond

morning of July 8th (back up July 9th)

Perfect for families who:

• want a beautiful pond and park backdrop for their photos.
• enjoy having lots of space to play and move around.
• want a central Ottawa location for their photos.

Summer at the Sandy Beach

late afternoon/evening of July 12th (back up July 13th)

Perfect for families who:

• want different backdrops for their photos (greenery, sand, water).
• love the idea of a playful and fun Summer session (and who don’t want to worry about coordinating shoes with your clothes!).
• want a session in the east end of Ottawa.

Summer in the City

late afternoon/evening of July 18th (back up July 19th)

Perfect for families who:

• love the idea of a unique urban setting for their photos.
• have a baby, older children, or children that are able to follow instructions and stay close to parents (for safety reasons as we will be in the Byward Market near roads).
• want a session in central Ottawa.

Summer in the Rock Garden *New*

late afternoon/evening of July 22nd (back up July 23rd)

Perfect for families who:

• love the idea of a “secret garden” for their session
• want a location that has both manicured lawns and gardens as well as a multi level rock garden
• love the idea of multiple different backdrops for their photos at one location
• want a central Ottawa location

Summer in the Ornamental Garden

late afternoon/evening of July 29th (back up July 30th) & late afternoon/evening of August 19th (back up August 20th)

Perfect for families who:

• want a floral backdrop for their Ottawa Family Photography session.
• want to have space to move around during their session for different backdrops.
• want a central location for their session.

Summer at the Flower Farm *New*

late afternoon/evening of August 17th (back up August 18th)

Perfect for families who:

• want a little bit of everything: flowers, a rustic barn, forest trails, open fields.
• want a private location where there is only one family using the space at a time.
• want a Summer adventure in the east end of Ottawa (sessions are in Russell)

Summer at the River Beach

late afternoon/evening of August 23rd (back up August 24th)

Perfect for families who:

• prefer candid family photos.
• enjoy playing in the bright Summer sun.
• prefer an east end location for their session.

Sunsets & Silhouettes

evening of August 23rd (back up August 24th)

Perfect for families who:

• want artistic and dramatic family or maternity photos to create stunning wall art.
• enjoy both candid and posed silhouettes of their family. 
• don’t mind the excitement of not knowing exactly what the sky will look like for their session and are flexible when it comes to last minute schedule changes in case it is overcast or there are too many clouds.
• have children who are old enough to stand on their own (babies need to be able to stand for these special photos).

*Sunsets and Silhouette Sessions are available only as 10 minute Moment Sessions ($245+hst) and include 3 edited and retouched digital images of your choice in colour and 2 gift prints.
