“What if I’m not comfortable showing bare skin for my maternity session?”

The clothing you choose to wear, or not wear, for your session, is 100% up to you. Before sessions take place we ensure we clearly understand what a client’s comfort is regarding the modesty of their clothing.

Maternity sessions are available:

-for clients who would like to wear no clothing for their session and bare it all

-for clients who would like to remain fully covered (chest, arms, body, legs)

-and everything in between

We have an extensive, yet easy, planning process for my maternity sessions. One of the first things we ask in our client questionnaire is what level of modesty you’d like for your session. Beautiful maternity photos are possible whether you bare it all or stay completely dressed! Staying fully dressed or showing just your bare belly are two of the options we start the planning process around. But we also offer sessions for parents-to-be who would like photos just in their underwear or fabrics as well as photos undressed. It is entirely up to you and your comfort level and desires.

Do I have to bare it all for all of my photos?

Rather than bare it all for the entire session, many of my maternity clients opt to have a combination of dressed and undressed photos. Either wearing one of their own outfits or one of the gowns from my client closet for their first set of photos. And for the second part of their session they can choose to have photos undressed or in their underwear. A combination is a popular choice as it’s great for having one set of photos to share with family and one more intimate set for yourself.

My sessions are always styled around a client’s preferences. And if you’re not sure exactly what your comfort level is yet, that’s okay too! We can start the session styling more generally and see how you feel on the day of your session.
