This adorable newborn baby boy was an absolute joy to have in the studio for an ‘in props’ newborn session. Baby K was almost three weeks old when he came to see me for his first photos. He still loved being all curled up like he was before he was born and was such a great snuggler.
A Moment Newborn Session is ideal for families who would love a selection of beautiful images of their baby. Either ‘in props’ or ‘on the posing cushion‘. The Moment Newborn Session is my shortest newborn session at 30 minutes long. While shorter, it is enough time for me to take beautiful photos of baby in one type of set up. After 12 years of photographing newborn sessions I can work quickly so tired parents can get home to rest as soon as possible.
Their newborn baby boy’s in props photos
For this newborn baby boy’s first photos, his parents selected the ‘in props’ image type. It was a great choice for him given how much he loved being curled up! I love how well my newborn sized props can help show how tiny and curled up baby is. The positions I can put baby in for their ‘in props’ photos very sweetly shows off their small size. I also took the opportunity to capture Baby K’s tiny little toes, his profile, and all of his adorable features. He is such a handsome little one and I’m thrilled with his photos.
Baby K’s parents opted to have natural wood as well as white and grey painted wooden props. I paired them with their chosen fabric and accessory colours of creams, blues, and greys. The combination of everything together made for a beautiful, layered backdrop for his photos.
Before finishing up this newborn baby boy’s prop photo session I took two special images. Baby K’s parents had selected two digital backdrops for me to use to create composite images. For the first step in creating his special pieces, I photographed him in just the right position on matching dyed wools. Once I was back at my computer after his session I edited his photos together with their chosen digital backdrops. The resulting photos of him appearing to be in a beautiful nest and wreath are stunning. I absolutely love how they turned out and am excited for his parents to have such a beautiful momento from his first few weeks after birth.
