After holding her parents’ maternity session amongst sunflowers, there was one special newborn photo I just had to take!
Sunflowers are my favourite flowers so I’m always thrilled when my maternity clients choose to have their session at the sunflower fields. A maternity session amongst the brightly coloured flowers was perfect for celebrating the upcoming arrival of this couple’s Fall baby. After having a wonderful time at their maternity session I was excited to meet their baby girl in October.
Mom and dad brought sweet Baby L into the studio for her photos when she was eleven days old. Before posing her with sunflowers for her newborn photos I began with capturing their first family photos together. Miss L was such a snuggly little one and loved curling into her parents as I posed her on them. She loved the feeling of being close to them and was happy to nap away while I photographed them all together. Mom and dad are head over heels in love with their baby girl. I am so happy for them to have welcomed her into their family and hearts.
Her newborn photos with the sunflowers
After photos with mom and dad, they were both free to relax while I photographed Baby L on her own. For her newborn portraits, her parents had selected ‘in props’ photos of her which was perfect for incorporating with sunflowers. I styled her session by choosing props that would look beautiful with the fabric and accessory colours her parents had chosen. A selection of natural wood, grey, and cream props offered a variety of different set ups.
For the special photos with sunflowers, I posed Baby L on my tiny rattan newborn bed prop on cream fabric layers. The set up was gorgeous and looked beautiful as a backdrop for sweet Baby L’s portraits. She even smiled in her sleep as I photographed her! These special photos of her will look beautiful displayed next to mom and dad’s sunflower maternity photos.
