A maternity photo session during Fall is a gorgeous way to celebrate baby and capture those exciting last few weeks before baby’s birth. When you’re expecting a November baby the colourful Fall leaves that are in the backdrop of your maternity photos are a special and seasonal treat. The star of these stunning Fall maternity photos though was definitely the gorgeous mom-to-be and her perfect baby belly. She was absolutely glowing on the day we met up in the forest!
While we were in the planning stages for her session, we helped mom find just the right gown from my client closet for her photos. Because I know just how hard it is to find beautiful outfits during pregnancy I keep on hand a large selection of gowns and dresses for my clients in a range of sizes. When adding to my collection I make sure to choose a variety of styles and sizes that will fit all different body types and suit a variety of tastes. For this beautiful mom-to-be’s maternity session during the Fall we decided on a gorgeous cream gown for her photos. The colour was ideal against the backdrop of colourful leaves and the cut was beautiful on mom, she looked like a goddess!
Flowing gown photos during her Fall maternity session
After photographing mom and dad together and mama on her own for portraits of just herself with baby I asked dad for a bit of help. I knew Mom had loved the look of flowing gown photos from some of my previous sessions. I wanted to create her own special flowing gown images so I enlisted dad’s help to toss the fabric of the cream gown. He did marvelously!
Once we had a beautiful and serene photo of mom with the cream fabric flowing beside her, we helped mom change into one of my maternity fabrics. In addition to my maternity gowns, I keep a selection of long fabrics on hand as well. I use the fabrics to create the look of a gown in maternity photos with fabrics that flow in the air to add drama to the images. The bold blue of the fabric mom had chosen was a stunning choice. I love both the drama and the beauty of the shot of the fabric flowing behind her against the orange and yellow backdrop.
We had such a wonderful time creating these special photos for the parents-to-be. I’m thrilled for them both to be expecting their little one soon. I am so glad I was able to help them capture their exciting memories from this very special time in their lives.
