Family photos under the apple trees is a much-loved September tradition. Early September is one of my favourite times of year. The warmth of Summer has not completely left us but the Fall colours are starting to come out. Long before the leaves change, tiny red apples fill the trees throughout Ottawa with colour. The tiny red apples are one of those early signs of autumn that gets me excited for all things Fall!

For families who would like Fall photos but who prefer the warmer temperatures I like to suggest an Under the Apple Tree Session. In October the winds and rains become more unpredictable so for families with babies or toddlers an Under the Apple Tree Session is a popular choice. It’s also great for those who would like to avoid a time of year where postponing for inclement weather is more common. September is a gorgeous time of year in Ottawa!

This year family photos under the apple trees took place on two different dates. Mother Nature very kindly treated us to gorgeous weather on both of them. Everyone was happy to be out enjoying time with their family in the warm air. As families posed and played amongst the apple trees I captured updated family photos for these beautiful families.

For some families, it was their first photo session experience. And for other families I have been photographing them at least a once a year for quite a while. One family in particular has been a client for eleven years! When mom reminded me of our first session together I couldn’t believe how much time had passed.

Now that we’re well into Fall I’m holding onto the memories of all of the fun we had under the apple trees. Thank you to all the lovely families who came out for photos this early Fall, I can’t wait to see them all again for their next session.
