For photos during pregnancy my Ottawa studio is ideal and a popular choice for a maternity session. This stunning mom-to-be’s maternity session was a wonderful way to spend a September morning. I am so excited for these first-time parents to be welcoming their little one this November. And I am thrilled they included me to help capture their excitement. Planning pregnancy photos in Ottawa

Every maternity session is completely unique to the couple or family who books it. Everyone has their own preferences and style as well as things that are important for them to capture. In styling my Ottawa pregnancy photo sessions we use a combination of tools to get us started. After eleven years of photographing these special sessions we have the process down to an art!

At the beginning of the planning, I ask clients to fill out a questionnaire that asks about a variety of options. Things like favourite backdrop colours, preferred style, and any inspiration photos they’ve seen and like. This helps us get the ball rolling and learn about the look the Ottawa expectant parents have in mind for their pregnancy photos. From there we can chat about ideas before settling on a plan for their session that will help create just the right look for their photos.

For this excited couple’s maternity session, we planned for a wide variety of looks. They had a few favourite image types they wanted to include as well as a special robe. I absolutely love it when clients have special props or outfit pieces they want to include. I’m always happy to find a way to incorporate special mementos into an Ottawa pregnancy photo session.

Before their session we helped select the gowns, fabrics, backdrops, and light setups that would create all of their important photos. Having a plan ahead of time lets me make sure we’re able to include everything and leaves parents able to relax and enjoy their session. We had a wonderful time together during their Ottawa pregnancy photo session. I’m thrilled with the gorgeous gallery of images we created together!
