As a full-time newborn and family photographer in Ottawa, I take my role very seriously. I strive for the highest level of customer service while capturing beautiful photos for the families who entrust me with their very special memories. Photographing newborns is much different than with other types of sessions. Their unique physiological needs means it takes a lot of training and experience to safely photograph them in beautiful ways.
When someone hires me as their newborn photographer, I know it’s important that they have beautiful photographs of their baby. But also, that it is done by someone who is experienced and knowledgeable about how to safely and comfortably pose delicate new babies. For these reasons I have taken workshops
and courses with over a dozen different newborn professionals. Including from two internationally recognized experts in safe posing and newborn physiology. This means my Ottawa clients can feel confident in their decision to hire me as their newborn and family photographer.
Their Ottawa newborn and family photographer
I was thrilled to be this lovely Ottawa family of three’s first family photographer once they’d welcomed their newborn. Their sweet little girl is absolutely adorable and I’m so excited for them to have welcomed her into their family. Born this Summer, she came into the studio for photos with her mom and dad at almost two weeks of age.
She was snoozing away when she arrived so I very carefully prepared her for her photos. I always do my best to keep baby asleep if they’ve fallen asleep on the way to the studio. Warm hands, slow movements, and more than a decade of experience means I’m usually able to keep them asleep.
Newborn babies are often hungry when they’re awake so starting with photos while they’re asleep is a great way to start a session. Once Miss R was ready for photos, I posed her in her parents’ arms for their photos together. She loved the feeling of being against their chests and relaxed even more once I put her on them.
You can really tell how much mom and dad are in love with her by the way they look at her. She already has them wrapped around her little finger. Congratulations to them both on them on their baby girl’s arrival, she is absolutely perfect!
