I held two afternoons of sessions for family photos at an Orleans creek this Summer. On one of the two afternoons I was lucky enough to have several very long-time clients come for photos. I love meeting new families and it’s one of the best parts of my job. But it’s also such a joy and incredible experience to develop a relationship with my clients and watch their families grow up over many years. It’s an honour to help a family record their story and capture their very special memories.
I photograph families from pregnancy all the way up to graduations from high school or post-secondary. This means I’m there for many important milestones and family changes, so I often develop a close relationship with the families I photograph. The families I met up at the Orleans creek for photos are clients I have seen for newborn, maternity, birthday, holiday, and annual family photos. It’s amazing to think of all of the incredible memories we have created together. I’m so excited to have been back with them again this August.
Family photos at the Orleans Creek
In the Summer we have lots of daylight so sessions are longer than at other times of the year (eg. Fall). This means we had lots of time during Orleans creek family photo sessions for whatever each family had in mind. Everyone had opted to include posed family photos in their session which is a great way to start a session. An updated posed family photo is not just important to parents. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends all love to have a print of with everyone looking at the camera to display.
After the posed family photos were taken, we took photos of all of the different family member combinations that we had planned in the lead up to sessions. What the Orleans creek was especially fun for was candid and interactive family photos. We had an incredible time posing for photos and playing at the creek. I will definitely be back there again next Summer and hope to see many familiar and friendly faces again.
