Their Ottawa creekside maternity session photos turned out beautifully! The creek is a gorgeous setting for a maternity session but not one often thinks of. As a unique setting, it’s beautiful for photos but also fun for families (and photographer!). The varied landscape makes it an ideal place to explore and provides us with incredible and varied backdrops for photos.

Some of my favourite places to photograph clients are by the water and this little gem of a location is no exception. The calmness of the stream and the thick tree canopy makes it feel far from the busy city. While very much still in the city, the stream is hidden away and deep enough in the trees that it feels like a faraway destination.

Their Ottawa creekside maternity session photos

We met up on a late afternoon creekside for their Ottawa maternity photos this August. While it was still quite warm out, the tree cover surrounding the stream meant we were kept nice and cool. This lovely couple is expecting their second baby. At just under two years old big brother is not so big himself quite yet. But he is definitely ready for his important new role! He was full of excitement for their maternity session and loved exploring the creek with dad in between photos.

For their Ottawa creekside maternity photos, we had planned for three different outfits for the beautiful mom-to-be. By including one of her own outfits as well as a lace gown and sheer burgundy dress I was able to style her session to include a variety of different looks.

I love when families have adventurous spirits and are up for different ideas during a session. This fun and adventerous family was a joy to photograph. We had an incredible time capturing this important moment in their lives and their photos beautifully captured their excitement for their upcoming arrival. It won’t be much longer now until their little one arrives and I can’t wait to meet them soon!
