The Ottawa River Beach is such a fun location for family photos in the Summer. Children and parents alike had an incredible time at the river beach for their sessions.
This Summer was the first time I offered a dedicated evening for family sessions at the river beach. I love it as a session location on a Summer evening. I was thrilled to see so many families come out for family photos there.
The Ottawa river beach is a sunny location so when clients let me know that they love playful, candid family photos and spending time at the beach it’s my first location suggestion. It’s also perfect for families who would like casual outfits or to not worry about selecting shoes for their photos. The beach means bare feet is not only allowed, but ideal!
Choosing an Ottawa river beach for photos
A lot of the families who came out for family photos on the Ottawa river beach had young babies. Choosing an outdoor session in the Summer when you have a baby is a wonderful idea. Not only do you have less outfit pieces to worry about dressing little ones in, but they’ll also be warm. And a warm and comfortable baby is a happier and smiley baby for photos!
Sessions at the Ottawa river beach were a lovely mix of new families and returning clients. For some returning clients this was the first time they’d had an outdoor session with me which was especially exciting. The studio and the outdoors both offer such different experiences, so I love that families are including both in their memory making.
After cuddling up for cheerful and happy family photos on the banks of the Ottawa river beach the kiddos were all in a great mood for their own portraits. Cuddles with mom and dad, a warm breeze, and a beautiful backdrop; what could be better than that?
