Her Arboretum first birthday photo session was filled with everything that makes a first birthday special! Gorgeous weather, family, bubbles, fun, photos and of course… cake! What could be better than all of that when you’re turning one?!?

A first birthday session is perfect for celebrating all of the changes and growth baby has made during their first year. The possibilities for first birthday photos are practically endless, including sessions at the Arboretum or another fun outdoor location. Sessions are planned based on each baby’s personality so the sessions are as unique as every baby celebrating a birthday.

I couldn’t wait to celebrate this special baby’s first year client’s birthday. I have been photographing her every four months since she was born, just like I did with her sister. It’s been an absolute joy watching Baby C grow and change. Her family and I were so excited for her Arboretum first birthday photo session and were thrilled when the day arrived.

Baby’s Arboretum first birthday photos

We met up in the Arboretum on a warm and sunny July day. The treed setting was gorgeous for photos and the mature trees gave us welcome shade from the Summer sun. With much excitement and a celebratory feel in the air we started with family time and capturing photos of everyone together. Cuddling, playing and walking amongst the trees with Baby C was a great way to start the fun at her Arboretum first birthday photo session. Mom and dad then brought out bubbles for blowing near the girls. The girls had so much fun trying to capture the bubbles as they blew by with the soft breeze.

After a quick outfit change it was time for Baby’s C much anticipated cake. The cake looked absolutely delicious and the birthday girl did not hesitate to dive right in. Big sister was excited for this part of the session too and more than happy to help out her baby sister with her cake. I love the expression on Baby C’s face as her big sister shared her birthday treat with her!
