Their candid and cuddly newborn session was a beautiful way to capture Baby J’s early days with her family. Family photos don’t have to be posed ‘looking at the camera and smiling’ photos. Some families prefer a more candid look to their family photos (and others prefer a bit of both!). Styling a session individually for each and every client is important to me so that everyone gets just the right ‘look’ for them.
For Baby J’s candid and cuddly newborn session we booked the family in for a Moment Newborn Session. This thirty minute session is perfect for families who would like one of the three different newborn session image types. Families can choose from photos of baby ‘in props’ or ‘on the posing cushion’. Or, they can also choose family and sibling photos.
Their candid and cuddly newborn session
Baby J’s family wanted to have family and sibling photos once their baby arrived. We pre-planned everything for their candid and cuddly newborn session before baby was even born. From the colour of Baby J’s knit diaper cover to the colour of the studio backdrop. We planned it all ahead of time so that we would have everything set up and ready on the day of their session. I also had a list of all of the family’s important photos. This let me make a plan for capturing everything they wanted in a way that involved as few transitions as possible. Newborn babies can become tired and overstimulated easily. I keep everything in the studio calm with as little movement of baby as possible.
For Baby J’s candid and cuddly newborn session I set up photos that would capture each family member loving on and interacting with her. Photos of them kissing, cuddling, and holding her were perfect for capturing the love they all have for this sweet baby girl.
