A maternity session at the willow pond was an incredible way to capture this lovely couple’s excitement about their baby.

The location for their maternity session had an enchanting feeling to it. Almost as if it were a setting plucked from a fairytale storybook. Mother Nature was also generous with us that morning and gave us the most beautiful lighting for our photos. The glow of the sun on the flowers and water around the pond was a photographer’s dream come true!

For their willow pond maternity session we booked them in for a More Memories Maternity Session. This session is 20 minutes long and perfect for capturing a few special memories from pregnancy. It’s a great choice for parents to be who would like either an outdoor session or a studio session. When clients would like just one outfit as a part of their session it’s typically what I suggest.

For her session, the mom to be chose a beautiful summery red dress. It showed off the shape of her baby belly very well. It was also perfect against the greens of the willow pond. I love the way the red colour pops against the green in her photos and draws the eye to mom.

We started off their session right next to the willow pond. The watery location was ideal for capturing serene photos of the gorgeous mom to be cradling her baby.

Beyond the willow pond at their maternity session

For photos of the couple together we walked away from the pond a bit to where a majestic willow tree provided us with a beautiful backdrop for their photos together. This fun loving couple was a pleasure to photograph, they have a great sense of humour. We shared a lot of laughs as I posed and photographed them at their willow pond maternity session.

Before wrapping up their session I had one more backdrop in mind. On my way to the willow pond that morning I had spotted it. I had been so excited to see a gorgeous flowering tree this late in the season and couldn’t wait to incorporate it into their willow pond maternity session. I absolutely love all of their photos but the beautiful mom to be’s photos amongst the white flowers have to be my favourite!
