I was so excited for their baby’s first birthday session in studio! When planning her birthday session we kept Miss A’s favourite things in mind. What could be more fun for this sweet girl than her family, books, and music!
Updated family photos and a traditional capture of all of their hands together was a great way to start their session. I love that a photo of their hands together is included in all of their sessions. Tiny hands grow quickly making it a beautiful way to capture the passage of time.
Celebrating baby’s first birthday in studio
Once everyone had taken a turn posing for photos with the birthday girl we turned the focus of the session to just her. Miss A was ready for fun so we jumped right into photos with a pile of her books. For a baby who is always flipping through pages reading is an ideal session activity. Posed photos are of course wonderful to have but candid playful shots are also a great way to photograph baby’s personality.
After scouring through her pile of books and reading some favourites it was time for an outfit change. Mom had found a beautiful dress for baby’s first birthday session in studio. She seemed to think that her dress was fun to wear and even danced for photos on my grey sweep backdrop. She has an incredible little personality already, she was so much fun to photograph!
Before wrapping up baby’s first birthday in studio we pulled out Miss A’s beloved instruments. She spends much of her days dancing to music and playing instruments. Including photos of her enjoying her instruments was the perfect way to end her session. She was excited to make music for us and I love the expression she gave my camera as she played a tune.
