These sisters’ shared Summer birthday photo session is a favourite tradition for the family as well as for myself. Every June I get to see this lovely family and help capture all of the growth and changes their little girls’ have made since the previous year. Check out their photos from last June on my blog here!
Our traditional session started at big sister’s newborn session when I photographed her with dad in his dress uniform. Ever since then we have been celebrating her birthday with a family session and updated dad and daughter uniform photos. The addition of baby sister to their family has seen the tradition continue. Baby sister’s newborn photos and her first birthday photos also included special pictures with dad.
This year we celebrated her second birthday and big sister’s sixth birthday. Of course we included photos with dad’s uniform at this year’s shared Summer birthday photo session. It’s been a wonderful way to help capture their relationship and show how the girls have changed over the years.
A family focused shared Summer birthday photo session
We started their session with updated family photos and a fun tea party on a special quilt. Their sessions are always a lot of fun but the addition of a tea party and some of the girls’ favourite toys and books made it extra special. It’s always a great idea to include favourite toys or activities at birthday and milestone sessions. Children’s interests change so quickly so it’s a lovely way to capture just who they are at that age.
Their shared Summer birthday photo session is always a family focused event. We always include family photos as well as photos with mom and dad and the girls together. Their photos are beautiful and so full of love for each other. I’m always thrilled to help this family capture their memories and can’t wait to see them again next June.
