An Ottawa garden made a gorgeous backdrop for maternity photos this June. Maternity photos are all about capturing the excitement for a new baby. And we had so much excitement to capture for these lovely families. They couldn’t wait to meet their newest family members!
Our evening in the Ottawa garden started with a lovely soon to be family of five for maternity photos. On the evening of their maternity session they were about to welcome their third son anytime. We squeaked their maternity session in just in time for family photos before baby arrived. Most maternity sessions are scheduled for before 35 weeks along but I will always do my very best to fit in maternity sessions up until the last minute. Maternity Sessions are something everything every parent treasures, long after their baby has arrived.
What really helped build excitement in the gardens was the exuberance and spirit of the big brothers to be. They were full of excitement and activity and were so much fun during their maternity photo session in an Ottawa garden. I love when children are excited and full of energy at their sessions. We always end up having so much fun and capturing lots of beautiful candid interactions with family. These big brothers were a joy to photograph with their parents. I’m so excited to see them all soon with their new baby brother!
More maternity photos in an Ottawa garden
For my second maternity session in an Ottawa Garden that evening we started with a special photo of the lovely couple together. I encourage families to bring meaningful items to their maternity and newborn sessions. Special items brought by families have ranged from ultrasound photos, to childhood toys, to clothing purchased for baby, to blankets made by a loved one. I love finding a way to incorporate special mementos for expectant parents, the photos are always treasured greatly.
For the second gorgeous mom-to-be that evening, I photographed her with the beautiful lilac bushes in two different maternity gowns. The purple and white gowns were very different but they both looked incredible on her and gave a lot of variety to her gallery.
With an adults only maternity session the pace is a bit different than with busy siblings but our session was not without it’s excitement. Take a close look at the photos below to see who joined us for a very special photo!
