Blossom Family Photos in Ottawa are something I look forward to all year long. I dream about the pretty blossoms during the really long Winter months. I make sure to photograph my own children in front of the pretty trees every year. Every April and May I also hunt for new trees with their tiny little buds for many, many hours. I think it’s safe to say that these special trees and their flowers have captivated me. But with such ephemeral beauty, can you blame me?
I can still hardly believe my last blossom family photos in Ottawa before this year were in 2019. I’m thrilled we were finally able to be open in May after two years of pandemic closures. With amazing families like these to photograph the blossom family photo sessions were well worth the wait! Even with such a gorgeous setting, it was their smiling faces that were the highlight of their photos.
Our blossom family photos in Ottawa
We held the blossom sessions on a gorgeous early evening in May. The early evening brought us some warmth as well as beautiful lighting for photos.
With different patches of blossom trees spread throughout Ottawa I had settled on a beautiful location off the beaten track. Children can be easily distracted so it’s always important for me to find quiet locations without a lot of crowds. Busy roads and inaccessible parking is also something I avoid for sessions. I was really happy to find a gem of a location that not only had beautiful trees but checked all of those boxes too.
The best part of the location I found was how excited all of the children and parents were when they saw the flowers. I love it when clients share my excitement about Mother Nature’s beauty!
In between photos there were lots of discussions about the beautiful flowers and debates about which blossom colour was best. We never came to a consensus about whether pink or white flowers were most beautiful but we all agreed they were a gorgeous place for family photos.
