This baby sister’s newborn session included adorable photos of baby on her own, cuddled up with her parents, and a sweet photo of the siblings together. Isn’t she the cutest?

Her family was so excited to meet her and so was I after meeting them only a few weeks earlier at their maternity session. I had a wonderful time playing with big brother during their maternity session. I was really looking forward to seeing him with his new sibling at his baby sister’s newborn session.

Baby K was only 10 days old when she came into the studio for her newborn session. She was still so tiny and all curled up like she had been when she was inside of mom. She relaxed and snoozed off to sleep as I wrapped her up in a white swaddle for her family photos. Most babies love the feeling of a stretchy wrap and she seemed to agree.

Their first family photos together

After she fell asleep in her swaddle I nestled Baby K into mom’s arms so that we could take their first photo as a family of four. She was so sleepy in her wrap that she barely stirred as I posed her with both mom and dad.

With big brother still quite young himself we opted to have him sit on the floor next to a prop for their sibling photo together. He was such a good model for their photos! The photo of baby sister and big brother together is absolutely adorable.

Big brother was such a good listener that he helped create a really special photo of baby sister in his and his parents’ hands on my black backdrop. It can be hard to imagine just how stunning the photo in hands will look while we’re creating it in the studio. I’m really glad he took my word for it and participated, I love how this special photo turned out!

Her individual newborn photos

Once we had finished up with the family, parent, and sibling photos it was time for Baby K’s newborn photos. For her first photos mom and dad opted to have photos of her taken in props. Photos of baby nestled into props are perfect for showing off just how curled up and tiny a baby is in those first early days.

Baby K’s parents selected a pretty colour palette of white and pink fabrics and accessories. They also chose natural wood, white, and cream props for her photos. The combination of the colours and textures created a beautiful backdrop for baby sister’s newborn session.

Baby K was such a sweetie and a joy to have in the studio. Congratulations to this very lovely family on her arrival!
