Indoor and Outdoor Maternity Photos

Having both indoor and outdoor maternity photos was ideal for creating a beautiful and varied gallery for these expectant parents. They are so excited to meet their baby! We planned a gorgeous maternity session together to celebrate and commemorate this exciting time in their lives.

One of the things I love about my new studio is how close it is to many beautiful outdoor settings. This means I can offer a combination of indoor and outdoor maternity photos during one session. Many of my clients love having two completely different looks at their session.

In the lead up their session we made a detailed plan to include all of the different types of photo mom and dad wanted from their session. I’m happy to bring every clients’ own unique vision for their session to life. With so many ideas in mind for their session I was excited to see everything come together.

For every outfit the gorgeous mom-to-be wanted to wear we chose a complementary backdrop. We also made a plan to include their favourite types of poses so that everything would be all set and taken care of for them on the day of their session.

On the day of their indoor and outdoor maternity photos

On the day of their session Mother Nature was keeping us guessing with rain scattered throughout the day. With the rain still sprinkling we held our breath hoping that the skies would clear as they arrived at the studio for their indoor photos.

Mom had chosen several of my maternity gowns to wear for her studio photos and they all suited her beautifully. The mom-to-be not only looked gorgeous, she was also a natural at posing. Their studio photos were absolutely stunning, I love how they turned out.

As we wrapped up the indoor portion of their session we were so happy to see that the skies had cleared just in time to go ahead with their outdoor maternity photos. We raced to the nearby outdoor location not wanting to push our luck with Mother Nature. We were thrilled that the rain held off and we were able to finish up their session outdoors as planned with two more beautiful gowns.

I’m so excited for them to meet their baby soon and can’t wait to photograph the three of them together at their newborn session.
