8 Month Old Ottawa Baby

Check out this 8 month old Ottawa baby just 4 months ago here. Baby E is a Baby’s First Year package client. This means I’m lucky enough to get to see him every 4 months during his first year. I first met him and his lovely parents at his newborn session when he was only 10 days old. He has already changed and grown so much since then.

For 8 month old babies I offer 20 minute More Memories Baby Sessions in my Ottawa studio. I also offer the session outdoors when the weather is warmer. This little one’s milestone fell at a chilly time of year in Ottawa though. For Baby E’s 8th month session the studio was perfect in March for capturing his unique features and his current milestones. The sessions can be styled to include just baby or can include family and sibling photographs.

For this little one’s session we took the opportunity to capture photos of the whole family together. We also included photos of this adorable 8th month old with each of his parents. Capturing the special relationship each child has with each parent is something every child loves to have in their albums and on their walls.

At 8 months old I definitely noticed that Baby E had an increased awareness of the world around him. I love capturing that new awareness in baby’s curious looks, the clutching of favourite toys or books, and in their growing interest in games. When babies are feeling a little nervous at their session because of this new awareness I often ask parents to play peek a boo over my shoulder or sing songs. A familiar song or game with mom or dad always brings a smile to baby’s face when they’re feeling unsure.

With a little snuggle from mom and dad Baby E was feeling secure being in a new place. He thought I was great fun during his session and showed off how well he was sitting up and smiling. He was so much fun to photograph at his 8 month old Ottawa baby session and I can’t wait to see him again for his first birthday.
