Posing Fabric Newborn Photography

Posing fabric newborn photography sessions are classic and beautiful. The sessions take place in my Ottawa studio with baby posed on a newborn posing cushion with layers of coloured fabrics. While the equipment under baby is always the same, the different fabrics, accessories and poses make each session unique. With every baby already having their own unique look and personality it’s easy to see why every session is different.

For this sweet little girl’s posing fabric newborn photography session her parents helped choose the colours. The colours of the fabrics on the posing cushion and the accessories such as headbands and wraps are up to every family to choose. Once families have selected the colours they’d like me to use I consider their style and preferences. I then pull together a cohesive collection of fabrics and items for their baby’s session. At her posing fabric photography session

The greys, greens, creams, and earth tones her parents selected were perfect for this cutie’s posing fabric photography session. Those colours in all of the different fabrics, layers, and accessories look soft and serene together. Her parents loved the look of baby all cuddled up in fabrics. I made sure to include several different ways of wrapping her to show off her tiny features. Baby wasn’t very interested in sleeping at her session but loved the comfort of my stretchy wraps. Some newborn babies don’t want to miss out on all of the excitement in the studio and on the posing fabric and that’s more than fine. When baby is awake I’m able to capture beautiful eyes open photos of them. The way she would watch me as I photographed her was incredible. She was very alert for only a week and half old!
