Second Ottawa Maternity Session

A beautiful second Ottawa maternity session for this gorgeous mom to be! I was so excited to hear that her family was expecting another baby. I loved helping mom and dad capture their special memories when pregnant with their first baby at a maternity session. Being there to help celebrate and capture her second baby’s pregnancy was a special treat.

For this special maternity session it was just the mom-to-be at her session so all of the focus was on her and her growing little one.

Mom arrived at the studio in a beautiful mauve dress so before changing into maternity gowns from my studio collection I photographed her in her own outfit. The soft purple colour was beautiful on her. It was also a lovely choice for the light and airy white sets I had prepared for her. Wearing an outfit of your own as well as items from my collection is a popular choice at maternity sessions. It’s a wonderful way to add more variety into your session’s gallery.

Gown selection for her second Ottawa maternity session

My maternity gown collection is growing all of the time. I had lots of new items for the mom-to-be to choose from. Once we had a few of her favourites noted we were able to suggest which would fit and work well for the photos she’d like. Mom decided to choose gowns that were a bit different from her first session. She chose a beautiful sheer burgundy gown and a pretty white gown with a ruffled neckline. The two gowns were both quite different so they were perfect for creating a varied gallery of images.

I chose backdrops for her second Ottawa maternity session that were also quite different from her first session. The sunlight beaming into the studio on the day of her session was a pleasant surprise for us both. I was able to use both studio and natural lighting which was a special treat for a studio session. Finding different ways through lighting and posing to capture the beauty of a mom-to-be is something I love to do for my clients. She is absolutely radiant and I can’t wait for her family to welcome their new baby soon.
