I am overjoyed and excited to share that Sara McConnell Photography has a new studio space. We can’t wait to welcome you all there. I have been looking for over 2 and a half years. After looking at dozens and dozens of properties, I finally found a new studio space.

What does the new studio for Sara McConnell Photography mean for my clients?

More of……. everything!

In many ways I have loved keeping my studio close to home over the last 11 years but it has always been a juggle coordinating my session schedule with my family’s schedule. The Covid restrictions that continue to evolve have made it incredibly difficult for my current space to continue meeting the needs of my business. Over the past two years we have had to continue to reduce the types and number of sessions I offer in studio and were faced with the real possibility of eliminating entire genres of studio sessions from my schedule.

Opening my new studio means that I will now be able to offer you:

  • new session time slots for my newborn, family, and maternity sessions
  • additional studio dates on weekdays and weekends 
  • sessions that can include both studio and outdoor photos

My current studio is a labour of love and perfect in so many ways. But I can’t wait to start shooting sessions in my new larger studio because I will now be able to:

  • have many different backdrops up at the same time. This is ideal for clients who would like a variety of sets or backdrops during their session
  • keep holiday and seasonal sets up for longer giving you more options for scheduling your favourite sessions 
  • offer you new types of sessions that require more space (e.g. lifestyle sessions, larger themed sets) 

Outdoor Sessions will continue as planned in beautiful locations all across the city of Ottawa and surrounding towns.

Safety for my clients and community has always been very important to me. The last two years have been incredibly difficult. My new studio was chosen with health and safety as a top priority and offers:

  • a separate ventilation system from adjoining units
  • wheelchair and stroller accessibility to the building and bathroom
  • several parking spaces immediately outside the door of my studio
  • easy access to the studio’s private washroom with hand washing sink
  • no shared common areas with other businesses or families
  • large windows that are able to open for lots of fresh air
  • 700 square feet to allow for easier physical distancing. Despite the size of the space, I’ll continue to only have one family in the studio at a time.  
  • an air purifier selected for its CADR rating and proven efficacy in removing viral particles
  • wipeable surfaces that allow for sanitization between clients
  • a masking policy that includes myself in a KN95 respirator mask and shield 
  • a mandatory Covid vaccination policy for staff and clients ages 12+

What will be different with a New Studio for Sara McConnell Photography?

Other than offering my clients a lot of options for sessions and scheduling there won’t be anything that you will miss from your previous session experiences. 

The new studio is 6 minutes from my current studio but the drive time will actually be shorter for many of my clients because it’s on a main road and you no longer have to navigate through suburbia to reach my studio. 

I’ll continue to warmly welcome my clients into my new studio as an extension of my “home”. The studio is located on the edge of the town of Navan, which is where I grew up.  I can’t wait to show you around and make you feel welcome in my new space and the beautiful community that I am once again a part of.

I’ll continue making your session the best possible experience and provide you with beautiful photos of your family that you will treasure for years to come.
