This handsome little guy was my first client back after the most recent closure of businesses in Ontario. With us needing to wait for his session until restrictions were lifted he was several weeks older than most of my newborn clients but his family and I were thrilled to be able to capture his first early weeks after so much uncertainty. We scheduled them in for his session on the first day I was back in the studio and it was an amazing way to start back at work.

At seven weeks of age Mr. D is already a bright-eyed and alert little one. He wasn’t eager to sleep the entire session away but that meant I was able to capture his beautiful blue eyes and such a wonderful variety of facial expressions as he watched me photograph him.
For his first photos, mom and dad selected to have his photos taken in props. I combined some of my natural wood and cream props with their favourite fabric colours to create a gorgeous backdrop, perfect for setting off all of his adorable little features. I love how well the classic mix of neutrals and blues looked on little Mr. D and can’t wait for his portraits to be up on his family’s walls soon.
