All of my sessions with children are part photography, part play so there is never a time where fun isn’t a part of my plan but Fall definitely provides us with one of my favourite session games: Leaf throwing!
I like to start off sessions with more traditional poses because it’s not always easy to pick out leaf pieces from everyone’s hair. For families who like to get in on the action I then love capturing that age old Fall tradition of playing in and throwing leaves. When children find out that their parents are going to be throwing leaves above and around them while dressed in their photo clothes there is always excitement and laughter. And sometimes a little bit of surprise too at first. My favourite part is watching the children’s anticipation as we “one, two, three…..throw!”
