One of the most common challenges I see new photographers run into is when they think they can only improve upon their skills by setting aside large amounts of time in their schedule to practice.

When we make photography practice an event rather than an everyday occurrence, we are much less likely to pick up our cameras.  Rather than trying to find 30-90 minute blocks of practice time during the week, leave your camera somewhere visible and schedule a 10 minute break each day where you take photos of whatever scenes and subjects you have available.  You might spend 5 minutes taking photos of your sleeping cat or the plants in your office or you might have the chance to photograph a beautiful sunset.  No matter what your subject, your practice will help with creativity and muscle memory when it comes to adjusting camera settings.
