In late November I placed an order for four custom-made maternity gowns. During the same week that the gowns arrived I also bought a brand new gown from a local photographer and couldn’t wait to get into the studio to photograph the new items for the studio wardrobe.

While some clients bring their own wardrobe to their session, many of my clients like to take advantage of the large collection of gowns and dresses that I have in the studio. There’s now over 30 items in the wardrobe, that range from size XS to size 4X.

The gowns and dresses are beautiful but they’re incredibly comfortable to wear. The fabric is soft and stretchy, which means the fit is flexible and accommodating.

I used to keep the gowns on a garment rack in the studio but my collection has outgrown my space. Now all the gowns have their own closet in another part of my home, where I keep them organized by colour so I can grab the items I need before each maternity session.

This time I added three new colours to my collection: a dark teal, dark grey, navy blue, and ivory.

I use the gowns for both studio and outdoor sessions. When I have sessions outdoors, I have a portable change room for clients to use for outfit changes.
