Your baby’s first birthday is an important milestone as so many experiences and changes happen in those first 12 months. When your baby was still a curled up newborn it was hard to imagine who they would become in one year but as they have grown who they are as a person becomes so much clearer.
A first birthday session is a chance to focus on all of the important details of your child: their different facial expressions; their features; their developing personality; and their interactions with you.
During your baby’s first birthday session we will create beautiful and timeless photographs of your child that not only you will treasure, but that your child and your children’s children will also love to have.
My first birthday sessions are styled around my timeless collection of studio sets, child size props, and classic accessories. When planning your little one’s session we will ensure the focus remains on your baby and their budding personality.
Incorporating an activity or meaningful props into your baby’s session offers an opportunity to capture their excitement and their curiosity about the world. Special books, favourite toys, milk baths with flowers, bubble baths, painting, and favourite treats are all fun additions to a first birthday session that will offer your child an enjoyable experience you will always remember. Most babies at one year of age are less interested in exploring a cake than they are in enjoying a bath, cuddling up with mom or dad, or finger painting. My sessions are styled around your little one’s interests and personalities and for most babies they are centered around something other than a cake smash theme.
For the first year of your baby’s life you have been their entire world. For families that would like to include family photographs during their child’s birthday session we will focus on the connection your little one has with you and capture the special moments you share with each other. Those cuddles, tickles, and Pat-a-Cake games that you play with your little one are the moments that you will always want to remember as your baby grows up.
