“Pregnancy is a magical time – but one that also dredges up a lot of insecurities for me. The immense physical change, shifting personal identity and sense of existing in a liminal, in-between state is both beautiful and challenging. As someone who has grappled with self love and acceptance, I have found this pregnancy to be more challenging than my first, as I have had less time for rest and self-care with a busy toddler in tow. For me, this session represented an opportunity to take pause and appreciate the beauty and wonder of co-existing with another little being. It also offered an opportunity for me to embrace my changing physical shape, as it is right now, and reflect on how dynamic, incredible and strong the female body truly is. I hope that I am able to pass this appreciation onto my daughter, and raise children who love themselves and recognize the beauty and strength of all women in all shapes and forms.”
