Every Tuesday I share a photography tip on my Facebook page. I hope to encourage my clients to use their own cameras on a daily basis because, for obvious reasons, I can’t be there everyday to capture all the important milestones, daily routines, and priceless memories.   Although people are relying more and more on using their smart phones to take photos, I know from the constant inquiries about my Learning to Use Your DSLR Camera Workshops that people are still using their cameras!

Here are a few tips that I hope will come in handy the next time you pick up your camera:

1- Now that summer is over, it’s a good time to print your pictures and create your photo books. Adding a monthly reminder to your calendar makes it easier to stay on top of organizing and printing all your beautiful memories.

2- Turn off the camera flash and use natural light when possible. The sun still isn’t setting until 7 pm, which means beautiful daylight to capture gorgeous images, inside or outside, without the need for a flash.

3- Are you going apple picking this Fall? Snap a few candid shots of the kids picking apples, walking through the trees or taking their first bite. Sometimes the moments in-between the posed photos are the most beautiful.
