As a Blurb affiliate I was recently given the opportunity to create a free Blurb planner using my own photos from the past year.  Each year we give our sons grandparents and aunts and uncles a calendar but I’m always looking for new photo gift ideas because, as I’m sure you can imagine, we have 1000s of family photos and I hate to think that they’re just sitting on my hard drive not being enjoyed.

There are two sizes of planners available: a 5×8 pocket size and a 6×9 trade size.  Both sizes have flexible templates that allow you to add photos for each month and, if you want to, notes on different days of the week as well as a place for a photo on the left hand page of each weekly journal.  I chose a 2013 planner but you can also customize a start/end date of your planner, making them a great gift for teachers!

What I like about the planners is that there is a monthly summary as well as plenty of space for each week of the year, meaning you don’t have to cram details into the little boxes on the monthly calendar but can save it for special dates like birthdays and anniversaries.

The cost of weekly planners starts at $24.95.  The Blurb software, Booksmart, makes customization easy as you can drag and drop photos into each of the available spaces as well as modify text.  Keep your eyes on this space as I’ll be giving away a Blurb planner just in time for the holidays!
